Spring Summer 2010/11 releases are starting to come thick and fast. And what better time to think about the warm days ahead than Matariki and the upcoming Winter solstice? Iconic New Zealand streetwear label Doosh has been at the forefront of the streetwear market for 14 years now. And here they are with Wild at Heart...
To celebrate a rebirth of the Doosh label, their summer collection, Wild at Heart, explores youthful rebellion and romance from decades past. Streetwear for chicks straddles the line between retro and contemporary, featuring clean lines mixed with silhouettes from those eras where fashion, music and radicalism went hand in hand.
Every item needed to create a complete wardrobe is in the range, including irty dresses and skirts, rock-goddess leggings, singlets, tees, tops and knits alongside hard wearing denim and drill jeans, pants and shorts of every length. Colours include vibrant hot pink, sassy cobalt blue, sensual midnight and sweet sunshine yellow - perfect for engaging in adventures both extreme and demure.
Patterns focus on tie dye, kaleidoscope and paint splatter effects; detailing utilizes slashes, sequins and while prints are unashamedly feminine. Guys gear is grittier than collections past; taking a direction with separates that is fashion forward and yet fierce, masculine and enduring.
The collection embodies everything the new Doosh is: paradoxical, iconoclastic, hedonistic, with enough nostalgia to evoke rebellion and the ckleness of youth - for anyone truly Wild at Heart.
“I believe that the fact the company is run by passionate people really reflects in the clothes,” says Brady. “I feel certain that a little bit of that passion will remain in Kiwi urban folklore to be told to future generations by the wearers and lovers of Doosh clothing.”
This is one collection we think you'll fall in love with - we certainly have. Just one more reason to count the days til Winter gets off our back. The collection isn't on the Doosh site yet so we've given you a bigger taste than normal but keep your eye out - it'll be there soon enough!
