THE OBLIVIOUS - A Beautiful War

Emerging young designers Stephanie Bellamy and Benjamin Markby are a force to be reckoned with, combining their respective fashion and graphic design backgrounds to create New Zealand's latest up-and-coming clothing label, The Oblivious.

Their collection A Beautiful War is a top-10 finalist in the 2012 Westpac Young Designer Competition, currently open to public vote (that's you guys) to establish the final 3 collections which will hit the runway at New Zealand Fashion Week.

The clothing is designed and marketed for an oblivious generation, where ignorance is bliss and everything in the world seems perfect.

The concept for A Beautiful War comes from a contrast of two notions - perfection, attraction and beauty clashing with conflict, hatred and disruption. The debut collection is the ironic harmonious outcome of these conflicting ideas, much like the collaboration of the two designers - contrasting styles creating unique and beautiful pieces.

The clothing is designed and marketed for an oblivious generation, where ignorance is bliss and everything in the world seems perfect.
