Jack Hill's entry in the Westpac Young Fashion Designer Competition began as a third year design project at Massey University.
Working in retail to support his studies, Jack noticed the growing trend towards home grown New Zealand labels over international alternatives, which has influenced the designs in his collection.
The print on the pieces was inspired by renaissance ceiling tiles and features New Zealand iconography to add a sense of national pride.
Jack's objective is to challenge men's fashion in New Zealand, while still retaining masculinity and ensuring pieces are wearable.
