We thought we'd start a new generation of Fashion Guru with a new generation of designers, so where better to find some of New Zealand's freshest fashion talent than the Miromoda Awards in Wellington on Friday night?
We got the first look at what we will see in the Miromoda Showcase at New Zealand Fashion Week this year and for those lucky enough to make the show, you won't be disappointed!
Judged in a 'Project Runway" style with the day starting at 8:00am that morning, we were pretty impressed that the models were still standing by the time they stepped out to show off the collection favourites at 5:30pm!
Our beautiful friend Alanna from Al & Al Style Bible was the model for designer Pia Naera of Pia Boutique (runner up in the Established category) and looked absolutely stunning! Check out the dress on our Facebook page!
Monique Lynch of AUT in Auckland took out the Emerging category and was later named the overall Miromoda 2012 winner with a collection featuring unconventional fabrics coupled with new technologies to influence the feeling and aesthetics. The shapes of the garments were designed to create silhouettes that stand away from the figure and are elongated or exaggerated in some way.Check out Monique's feature garment (right) and some of our other favourites from the awards below.
