Shallow Water - must be summer

Fabric addict Shiana Weir of Mardle just dropped her latest pieces on us. Shallow Water is Mardle's summer collection and begins with the Triglinae dress and the men's Chatham tee - in Tencel/Silk blend - which Shiana describes as 'yum'.

Mardle gear is made in New Zealand (bonus points) and, it has to be said, is a little bit different. You can check out the growing collection online and order via the web too.

Nick Von K - it's jewellery but not as we know it Jim.

Fark! It's not often we get lost for words in these parts - although some members of the team should definitely consider it from time to time - but Nick Von K has definitely done it. His work is amazing, we know he hears it all the time but it has to be said... we haven't seen anything like this before!

Credit: Serena Stevenson

Nick Von K launched his new label in September, taking inspiration from all that has shaped him - from Metallica to his roots in Austrian castles. Nick works in an amazing range of materials - from mammoth tusk to pounamu creating designs that will rock your world.

The label's debut collection, Nick tells us, is split into three stories - of life, of death and of the imagination. Get to the website and experience Jungle of Eden, See You There and Rainy Daydreams.

Stockists are nationwide, it's definitely time to get some hints out to the other half - you will find something you need this Christmas at nickvonk.co.nz

Nicole Fendel Jewellery, a global traveller this summer

Hey kids, occasionally, just occasionally we get excited about things from outside of New Zealand. It's always good to see our Aussie cousins coming over with something a little different. Nicole Fendel is the latest to catch our eye.

Aussie designer Nicole Fendel launched her label in 2002 and while we just caught up with her, we hear that her collections have struck a chord both in Aus and further afield. The latest collection takes us all over the globe - telling the story of a sun-drenched summer spent exploring St Tropez, Morocco, Capri and Africa, with exquisite gold and silver pendants, dramatic cocktail rings, delicate bracelets and clusters of bangles making up a hybridized collection of future heirlooms.

This summer also sees the launch of NFJ’s Spring Racing Carnival Collection The Clover, The Valentines Heart Collection and the Tree of Life pendant, which supports Life & Tree, Fendel’s favourite charity in Sao Paulo, Brazil that aims to rejuvenate plant life in the over developed region.

Check out the current collections on their website, we'll bring you details of their Kiwi stockists soon. XO

Summer, summer, summer... Turet Knuefermann

Yeah, ok. So we're summer people. Down here in Wellington there's something glorious about throwing off the black of winter - we're as guilty as anyone - and starting to delight in the freedom and colour that comes with the Kiwi summer. Beaches, roadtrips, barbies (not Ken), its all part of that magical mix that makes this land home.

We know that all the upcoming festivals, days - make that weeks - at the beach and those summer parties demand outfits that can look good, travel well and always have you looking hot. The summer collection from Turet Kneufermann has a piece we think is just perfect - yep, a beautiful sarong - so many looks, and perfect for everything from the beach to that rather grown up party.

This isn't the only piece worth getting your hands on from Turet Kneufermann. Her spring summer collection is gorgeous. Inspired by the crisp, clean lines of Scandinavia and the river guardian of Portugal, this collection reminds us so much of the freedom we're expecting this summer.

Get to your local stockists and the online store to pick up something outstanding for summer.

Costumes & Crystal Armour, the latest from the talent that is d_luxe!

Another awesome season coming from d_luxe. Costumes & Crystal Armour, their biggest and most best collection so far. We guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Costumes & Crystal Armour explores the notion of contemporary and traditional costume juxtaposing objects such as feathers, antlers and head pieces. Whilst forms are bold, a more whimsical and dreamier palette is explored via colour, where peach and lilacs are the colours for the season. Rings, pendants and bracelets made of gold and silver are adorned with cleverly inverted peridot, citrine, garnet & smokey quartz stones.

See what you think and tell us which piece you're going to be hanging out for! The full collection is online and stockists are all over the place. Pick up one of the choice pieces from the current collection while you fantasise about what's to come!

Agatha Paris Winner

We had some gorgeous entries to the Agatha Paris competition this month. Great to see such a cool boutique and such great accessories attracting all the attention. Thanks Agatha Paris for giving us the chance to help celebrate your first birthday.

Our winner scores these cute Scottie Dog Hair Clips...

We have to say, we loved your answers - cities ranged across the globe (as did entries with Fashion Guru fans from as far away as the Netherlands sharing their favourite city). But in the end we can have only one winner.

Well done to Kylie Walker. She really mixed it up...

"It's more like three cities combined. Wellington, my hometown, which forces me to wear my hair bureacratically tidy in deference to its wind but also fosters my Henry Ford-esque attitude to black; Dunedin, my home away from home, to provide some indie chic (whilst reminding me of my grunge-filled formative years). And for good measure Paris, inspiring me to mix and match tart with sweet and romanticise the harsh realities of inner-city life. Some times the latter is New York but this week it's Paris. Ohh la la."

Thanks Kylie. We'll announce our next competition soon. Love to you all. M+M
