Slide your thighs into some Milk

OK, so with a line like this, "The purest pair of underwear your legs will ever be wrapped in. Milk's like silk, like butter between your thighs." How could we not blog on new men's underwear label Milk?

Back to them, "Don't be misled by the name. Milk is not in the business of selling underwear. We sell the feeling of good and it's our business to make sure your underwear drawer is constantly full of FRESH MILK. We know from experience that there is no better way to start the day than with the purest pair of underwear your legs will ever be wrapped in. Milks like silk, like butter between your thighs. R.I.P Old Underwear."

Get your Milk order in today at their website...

The Young and the Reckless - showcasing Wellington's top young designers

Next weekend Wellington is in for a treat. Heaps of young design talent is coming together in the Young and the Reckless young designer showcase on 12 Dec. Natalie Mullin, part of the team behind the show, tells us that this is THE opportunity to see up and coming designers before they make it MASSIVE. The show features many of the labels you've seen on Fashion Guru - Sunday, Philippa and Alice, Jim & Lucy, Nevada Brown, Cherry Manor, Julian Danger, GUL-K, and Sophie van der Lijn.

The Young and the Reckless is putting the young Wellington talent on the map - giving them an opportunity to showcase their work and give you the opportunity to meet some of New Zealand's best and freshest talent! Tickets are in high demand but we hear you can still score some at Real Groovy on Cuba Street and at 1-night.co.nz - the most amazing night and only 15 bucks plus booking fee! We'll see you there!

The Liminal T-Off Winner - Zadok

The Liminal T-Off is now done and dusted. The winners Jasmine and Hannah now have 10 Freeset, fair trade, organic tees featuring their design. We thought we should find out a bit about them...

Hannah and Jasmine set up Zadok as a way to make some cold hard cash, have some fun and see people wearing their gear.  Being Mount girls, they've found inspiration easy to come by - surf and skate - along with local labels RPM and Lower. More than this though, Hannah tells us their 'main inspiration is God, and at the end of the day we want this brand to glorify him.'

Zadok is definitely by teens, for teens - set up by kids who know what kids want. The winning tee designs sold out straight away and Zadok are now printing more of their designs. Check them out...

Keep your eye out, there's a good chance you'll spot a Zadok tee this summer. Better yet, get your own, you can email them at Zadok.777@hotmail.com or go online to www.zadokteez.webs.com.

Growth - Deryn Schmidt's debut.

The amazing Samantha Hannah, Wellington's leading stylist, put us onto the exciting new label that is Deryn Schmidt.  Deryn has done the hard graft, working in the industry for many years before launching her own label. From what we've seen, it's been time well spent - this collection rocks.

Gear is 100% New Zealand made - which you know we like - and makes great use of natural fibres. It's a fun collection which we know you're going to enjoy - entitled 'Growth', Deryn tells us it 'is all about responding positively to change, about meeting the challenges that we each face throughout our lives head on, overcoming obstacles and adversity, and making the most out of every situation."

If that's not enough of a taste, get to www.derynschmidt.co.nz to check out everything Deryn Schmidt related. Stockists are across the country.

Shallow Water - must be summer

Fabric addict Shiana Weir of Mardle just dropped her latest pieces on us. Shallow Water is Mardle's summer collection and begins with the Triglinae dress and the men's Chatham tee - in Tencel/Silk blend - which Shiana describes as 'yum'.

Mardle gear is made in New Zealand (bonus points) and, it has to be said, is a little bit different. You can check out the growing collection online and order via the web too.

Nick Von K - it's jewellery but not as we know it Jim.

Fark! It's not often we get lost for words in these parts - although some members of the team should definitely consider it from time to time - but Nick Von K has definitely done it. His work is amazing, we know he hears it all the time but it has to be said... we haven't seen anything like this before!

Credit: Serena Stevenson

Nick Von K launched his new label in September, taking inspiration from all that has shaped him - from Metallica to his roots in Austrian castles. Nick works in an amazing range of materials - from mammoth tusk to pounamu creating designs that will rock your world.

Credit: Dan Max

The label's debut collection, Nick tells us, is split into three stories - of life, of death and of the imagination. Get to the website and experience Jungle of Eden, See You There and Rainy Daydreams.

Stockists are nationwide, it's definitely time to get some hints out to the other half - you will find something you need this Christmas at nickvonk.co.nz
